Urugay was founded in 1900 and their Fifa entry was in 1923. Uruguay hosted the first world cup in 1930 and won it against Argentina 4-2. Uruguay was the first team ever to win the World Cup. Their next title was against Brazil 2-1 in 1950 which received the highest attendance ever in a football game. One of the best players in the game is Edinson Cavani who is one of the top leading scorers in Uruguay History. Uruguay has won the Copa America trophy 14 times which is a record they share with Argentina. However, most of these wins were achieved decades afo, and the haven't won this trophy since 1995. Hector Scarone is Uruguay's top scorer with 31 goals. One of those legends from years ago, he played on the national team from 1917-1930, making many crucial goals. He play professional for 22 years, and then became a coach. He died many years ago. Uruguay's oldest player is Sebastian Abreu, born on 1976. His nickname is El Loco (The Mad Man).
